The following is a list of information that Jagex has released about the game MechScape, divided into various categories. Everything that is on this list has been confirmed by Jagex or, when appropriate, other verifiable sources (such as the Intellectual Property Office website).
- Legal Issues
- Development Team and Employment Information
- Developers' Goals
- Game Content
- Jagex Limited owns all right's to the new Stellar Dawn game including the intellectual property rights to the name and various types of merchandise. To prevent the possibility of anyone using the name Stellar Dawn, for their own gain, Jagex have also bought up virtually every domain name that you could imagine, Leaving fansites to use the abbreviated version. What they will do with all the domain names is uncertain but you can be sure they are taking all steps possible to prevent anyone else making money off of their new game, which includes RWT: Real World Trading.
Some of the items trademarked include, but is not limited to, downloadable telephone ring tones, downloadable screen-savers, downloadable wallpapers, books, player's guides, instructional and teaching materials, printed publications, leaflets, brochures, posters, articles of clothing like T-shirts, hats, and caps. The list goes on and on.
- Given that Jagex's new Stellar Dawn game has been 6 years in the making, it is obvious to just assume that the developers have been going all guns blazing to both finalize and complete the game for it's impending release. However, given what was said in Mark Gerhard's interview about the way they've been concentrating on getting the game finished to the highest standards possible you can be sure there is no assuming about it. At the last count it was believed that there were more than 70 developers working on the new game including specialist freelancers.
With the game already confirmed to be in the testing stages, the developers are trying to make sure that any and all bugs are eliminated well before the game hits the internet. This just goes to show how serious Jagex are about their new baby. With the game aimed at a slightly older or more mature audience they have been able to do a lot more within development for this game than they were able to do with RuneScape.
It doesn't stop there either, Jagex are still recruiting to keep their staffing levels up and to in fact raise their staff numbers in certain area's. Most notably in customer support including various language opportunities for employment. Their other main recruitment drive is for even more developers to join the company, as they expand their portfolio of top ranking games with Stellar Dawn and probably even now are looking at more ideas for even bigger and better games for the future. If you are interested in working for Jagex and would like to see what vacancies they currently have then please follow this link to their official website vacancies section. Jagex Vacancies
- With Jagex keeping a tight reign on anything and everything to do with Stellar Dawn, including their game developers, modelers and artists, I would say that it is a safe bet to assume that the developers will be looking to make this their best ever work to date. Jagex have been bringing in developers from various fields and some of those are totally new to their normal working, including people that have been working in sci-fi backgrounds to give the game the best feel possible.
Until we hear from the actual developers themselves everything is pure speculation, however, you can be sure these guy's will be doing their utmost to blow your minds away with the content of the new and upcoming game.
- Stellar Dawn, is a new game from Jagex which has now been 6 years in the making and takes a whole new twist on online gaming, as we are thrown into a universe where multiple races work and trade in what appears to be harmony, but do they, only time will tell. So far we have been made aware of 4 possible races with only one bearing a possible name yet, which is the Pliigi. Though this is not 100%, as the races and game dynamics have not been release yet. knowing Jagex, it may just be a red herring and be nothing like the actual race names.
What we do know so far is that it is building up to be an amazing MMORPG with stunning visuals and effects. Jagex say they have gone beyond even the latest RuneScape graphics to make this the most awesome game that they can make it.
Looking at the concept art released so far you can see just how much detail that has gone into creating new characters and vehicles AND we are even led to believe that you will be able to use mounts in the new game. How cool will that be! Whether that is horses and or vehicles remains to be seen but we do know that you will be able to travel around the worlds without doing it all on foot and be able to travel between worlds.
In excited anticipation of this new game we bring you MechHQ where we shall be uploading all the latest game news as it breaks. So keep coming back here for all the latest as it happens.
